Blockdaemon seeks a hardworking and highly-motivated transactional lawyer to serve as Senior Counsel supporting its fast-paced crypto infrastructure business. The incumbent works with our team to structure, draft, negotiate, update, and amend a wide variety of contracts in connection with our business. Additionally, this role will advise the team on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to our business and operations. The incumbent may also be called on to assist with company regulatory and compliance issues. This is a full-time position reporting to the COO.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contract reviewing, drafting, negotiation and advisory responsibilities
  • Counsel in connection with international compliance, employment, and other miscellaneous matters
  • Light corporate legal work in connection with financings, investor relations, equity considerations, and other internal legal needs
  • Provide strategic business and legal advice to develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with key partners
  • Lead and resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships
  • Assist with the review and management of various soft IP, publications, and marketing assets
  • Support in maintaining current Terms and Privacy policies
  • Advise company on a broad range of employment matters including workers’ compensation, discrimination, termination, retaliation, wage and hour laws, benefits/compensation, sexual harassment, etc., and ensure that the company is in compliance with state and federal laws
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Skills and Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 4-8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, including in-house experience with a start-up or comparable experience
  • Experience structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements with business development teams in fast-paced companies
  • Experience advising on intellectual property and managing outside (top tier law firm) counsel
  • Knowledge of the current crypto and/or blockchain landscape
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
  • Strong experience working on multiple assignments at once, while maintaining project deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work in a fast paced environment
  • Works well under pressure and can pivot from projects as needed
