Blockdaemon is an Approved Cronos Node Operator
Blockdaemon is now an approved validator node operator on the official Cronos mainnet beta.
Cronos is built as the first Cosmos EVM chain for DeFi, NFTs and Metaverse. Cronos’s base-layer currency is CRO, which is the native token of its parallel blockchain, the Crypto.org Chain. Since the Cronos Mainnet beta launch in November 2021, the Cronos ecosystem has had more than 600,000 DeFi and NFT users. Currently over 180 dapps are live on the mainnet, with over $3.8 billion total value locked.Cronos operates a proof-of-authority consensus mechanism. Proof-of-authority ensures that only a select set of trusted, high-quality operators have permission to run nodes on the network. Nodes that participate in consensus on Cronos are called validators.
This network design delivers a highly secure, streamlined blockchain, with a low energy footprint and a verified cohort of validators. We will also be running a validator on the Crypto.org chain, a public, open-source and permissionless blockchain. This helps contribute to the chain’s continued success as a decentralized network, powering high speed transactions with low fees. In addition, Blockdaemon will also maintain 3 full nodes running on Cronos mainnet beta to maintain peering. These nodes maintain full copies of the decentralized ledger, acting as an important backbone of the chain.

Partners will be able to use our “validator-as-a-service” capabilities, allowing easy-access to high-quality both validator and full nodes on both blockchains.
Blockdaemon Supports Cronos RPC Infrastructure
As part of our support, Cronos developers will now be able to call upon Blockdaemon’s high-availability (HA) RPC infrastructure. This lets Cronos devs securely communicate with Blockdaemon’s nodes, to remotely execute code.
We’re offering an unlimited number of HA RPC endpoints for Cronos mainnet beta. Each of these can support at least 5 million daily calls. On top of this, developers will be able to specify specific endpoints as needed. With this offering, Blockdaemon engineers have stripped away the complexity of connecting to Cronos mainnet beta. Finally, Blockdaemon offers 1 HA RPC endpoint for the Cronos testnet.
This is set to power a minimum of 5 million daily calls. Blockdaemon unlocks a highly accessible, simple way for devs to interact with blockchain nodes. Blockdaemon’s infrastructure is engineered to seamlessly handle high amounts of traffic on both the Cronos mainnet beta and testnet.
