Nodes & Protocols

How do I deploy a node and how much does it cost?

Blockdaemon can be utilized to deploy, manage, and maintain nodes to ensure an uptime of >99.9% and the cost for each specific node varies. In order to view specific pricing for a node, you will first need to sign up for a free Blockdaemon account on our website.

Once created and logged in, click the purple ‘Deploy a Node’ button and you’ll be able to view each available node that Blockdaemon has to offer. To view the price for a specific node, click on the node you are interested in purchasing and the price will be displayed on the right-hand side of the page as seen as below.

What is the Estimated Reward Rate for each protocol?

The ERR varies amongst protocols. You can view the Est Reward Rate for each Blockdaemon-supported protocol by clicking into the protocol you are interested in our Protocols page here.

How do I know which protocols are supported on Testnet?

You can check which protocols are supported on Mainnet and Testnet in your Blockdaemon account by clicking into the node you would like launched.

If you do not have a Blockdaemon account, you can create a free account here.

What are the hardware specs to your nodes?

The hardware specs for each node varies depending on the protocol, network and node type.

How can I find out when and what new protocols are going to be added to the Blockdaemon network?

We are constantly adding new and wider network support and the best place to get the latest information and news is to follow our Twitter account here.

Can each node on my network be hosted by a differenent cloud provider?

Yes. When adding a new node, you can choose the specific Cloud provider for that node.If you have any further specific questions regarding this, feel free to reach out to our Support Team and we'll be able to assist you.

Staking

I want to stake with Blockdaemon. How do I know which protocols are supported?

You can refer to our main Protocols page to view all of the protocols that we support - https://blockdaemon.com/protocols/To find if we support staking for a specific protocol, click on the Protocol you are interesed in and you will see if staking is supported under the Blockdaemon Products section.If you have any questions regarding any of our protocols, feel free to reach out to our Support team via email or chat and we’ll be more than happy to assist you.

Can I download Staking Reports from my account?

Yes - once you set up your staking validator addresses, you can download staking reports easily from your Blockdaemon account.To download staking reports, follow these steps -

  1. Log in to your Blockdaemon account
  2. Click on ‘Overview’ in the Staking section on the left-hand side
  3. Click on the ‘Download Report’ button in the upper right-hand corner
  4. Fill in the protocol and time range details
  5. Click on the ‘Download Report’ button

Can Polkadot be staked via Blockdaemon?

Yes, Polkadot/DOT can be staked via Blockdaemon.You can utilize staking services with Blockdaemon from any custodian (including Coinbase), hot wallet, or any self-custody solution (e.g. Ledger) as long as the platform supports the ability to send staking transactions.If you have any further questions, please reach out to our Support Team and we'll be able to assist you.

Ubiquity API

What can the Ubiquity Blockchain API be used for?

Ubiquity simplifies and streamlines blockchain access and reduces time and effort while increasing the consistency of your blockchain data. I have protocol nodes that are not hosted by Blockdaemon, am I still able to utilize Ubiquity?

No, Ubiquity is currently used to access Blockdaemon hosted shared nodes only at this time. If you would like to explore Ubiquity to access our node data to see if it meets your needs, you can sign up and use Ubiquity for free.You can learn more on how to get started using Ubiquity here. Can I get historical data with Ubiquity?

Yes, the Ubiquity API Suite provides access to historical data for selected blockchain protocols via:

  • Universal API historical data: Using custom indexers
  • Native Access API historical data: Using archive and full history nodes

What is Ubiquity?

Ubiquity is a multi-protocol API suite. With Ubiquity, you can easily interact with major blockchains without owning or managing your own nodes.Blockchain infrastructure management requires significant investment and overhead. What endpoints are supported with Ubiquity?

What data can I get from the NFT API?

The NFT API provides a single interface to a wealth of NFT data and allows you to:

  • Access consistent multi-source NFT Data with a single request
  • View combined on-chain and off-chain NFT Data via a single source

BD App, Payments, & Subscriptions

How do I find and edit my payment information?

You can update and view your payment and billing information in your Blockdaemon account settings. Please see below for step-by-step instructions on how to access your payment and billing information.1. Log into your Blockdaemon account 2. Click on your account icon on the upper left-hand corner and click on “Settings”3. Click on the “Payment and Billing” tabTo update your billing information, click on "Update Card" in the Billing sectionTo add a payment method, click on the "Add Payment Method" buttonNote: For Workspace accounts, you must be the owner on the account to view or edit Payment and Billing information.

Can I edit the user permissions for Admins and Contributors?

Yes - you can edit the roles for Admins and Contributors for the following permissions: View users list, Add users, View other users’ nodes, and Add node.Here are the steps on how to edit these permissions in your Blockdaemon account -

  1. Log into your Blockdaemon Workspace account
  2. Click on your account icon in the upper left-hand corner and click on “Settings”
  3. Click on the “User Permissions” tab
  4. Click on the dropdown for each permission and set it to Admin or Contributor
  5. Click on “Save Permissions Change”

What happens to your node when you get removed from a Workspace account?

When a user is removed from a Workspace account, any nodes that the user created as part of that organization will be set to cancel at the next renewal date. The nodes are not accessible by the removed person, so the user is unable to access details or control the subscription.

Can I add additional users to my Blockdaemon Workspace account?

Yes - you can add additional users to our Workspace accounts.Here are the steps to do so:

           
  1. Log into your Blockdaemon Organization account
  2.        
  3. Click on your account icon on the upper left-hand corner and click on “Settings”
  4.        
  5. Click on the “Users” tab and “Add User”
  6.        
  7. Fill in User email address, name, node limit, and role
  8.        
  9. Click on the “Add User” button

One thing to note - there are two types of Blockdaemon accounts (Personal and Workspace) and adding users is only available for Workspace accounts. What is the node refund policy and how can I get a refund?

You can request a refund within 48 hours of the purchase of the node. Our general policy is that upon cancelling, your node stays active until the end of the current billing cycle. If you would like a refund due to exceptional circumstances, reach out to [email protected] and we can assist you.

My credit card had a problem/error. How can I try to pay again?

If there is a problem with your credit card, your payment might be in pending mode after spinning up your node. You can try running the card again (after contacting your bank) or try using another card. If you are still experiencing issues after attempting to try another card, please reach out to support via email or chat and we'll be able to assist you.* Note: If you have billing set up and active for other nodes in your account - when you change a card for a new node purchase, it will change all your current billings to the new card.

What payment methods does Blockdaemon accept?

Blockdaemon accepts all major credit and debit cards. For node purchases, the payment recurs monthly. If you have any questions regarding accepted payment methods, feel free to reach out to our support team via chat or email and we'll be more than happy to assist you.

You cancelled your subscription but changed your mind. How can you reactivate your nodes again?

Reactivating your nodes is an easy process, just follow the 2-step method below:

1. Click on your action menu in your dashboard and choose "Restore"

2. Confirm that you wish to restore the node

*Note: The restore function will only be present until the end of the paid-for billing cycle. The node will cease to exist after the billing cycle is over with no payment.
For example: You have a node paid for till Oct 31, but you cancel on Oct 14. If you change your mind on Oct 25, you will be able to restore the node. However, If you change your mind on Nov 10, you will not be able to restore it.
