Kusama

Blockdaemon offers institutional-grade Kusama infrastructure, on-chain data and staking services.

Whether you’re a developer that needs end-to-end managed nodes or you’re a financial institution that wants to earn maximum yield on your assets with validator nodes, we have you covered.

Need on-chain data through APIs? Harness the power of our Ubiquity blockchain API.

Staking

  • White-Label Validator Node

Blockdaemon lets anyone run their own validator node and white-label it in their own name. Our white-label validator nodes are non-custodial (you keep your keys private), fully maintained/monitored, run at 99.9% uptime and have manual-failover built-in, eliminating double-signing. Blockdaemon’s market leading node performance is focused on meeting the high demands of large institutional banks, custodians and exchanges. Protecting your assets is critical to Blockdaemon and to mitigate risk we’ve established slashing insurance, provided by Marsh.

  • Nomination

If you want to test out our node performance before investing in a validator node consider nominating to Blockdaemon's validator.

Nodes & APIs

  • Dedicated Nodes

We've been perfecting Nodes-as-a-Service since 2017. All our Dedicated RPC Nodes are built for zero downtime and high security. Our nodes are supported by optional High-Availability Clusters, offering secure backups and helping you manage unforeseen load spikes. Lastly, every machine we manage comes with 24/7 support and transparent service level agreements.

  • Universal API

If you want access to Kusama data but don't want to run a Dedicated node, take a closer look at our Universal API. Our Universal multi-chain API lets you tap into full archive data and transaction data at a fraction of the cost of running a node. Best of all, it's free to try out.

  • Native Kusama API

With the Native RPC Access API, you can easily interact with multiple major protocols through their own native APIs. The Native Access API allows you to go deeper into a specific blockchain and get enriched native specific data with no abstraction to connect to our nodes.

  • MPC Wallet Solutions

Self-hosted, white label, institutional-grade wallet platform for custodians, exchanges, and investors. If you prefer to build your own wallet, the Sepior Threshold Security Module (TSM) provides Advanced MPC key management and protection via an SDK for easy integration. Unlike MultiSig, secure MPC runs entirely off chain, enabling reduced gas fees.

Connecting institutions to blockchains with one integration.

Supporting 60+ cutting edge blockchain networks with world-class blockchain infrastructure. We power the blockchain economy with an easy-to-use, secure and scalable node management platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Just log into our Self-Serve App to begin purchasing your Kusama node.

  • 1% of real DOT tokens (100,000) have been reserved to incentivize Kusama participation and ownership. Nominators are rewarded for participating in the network by nominating validators. Successfully elected validators who mint blocks and obey the procol rules are rewarded with Kusama’s native token, KSM. This mirrors the incentives of DOT, with lower penalties for poor performance. This is designed to maximize participation, as Kusama is a more experimental network.

  • Kusama achieves consensus through Nominated Proof of Stake (NPoS). NPoS is different from standard PoS networks as validators are nominated to mint blocks. Nominators (the token holders) do this by publishing a list of validator candidates that they trust, and putting down an amount at stake to support them. By nominating a successfully elected validator, the nominator receives a share of the rewards given to the validator for performing their work. Unlike traditional PoS systems, Kusama grants validators equal voting power in consensus. This means that no party is overrepresented or underrepresented, proportional to their stake. Everyone successfully nominated has an equal say.

  • Kusama is built on Substrate. This is the same framework Polkadot is built on. This is designed to support multiple parachains, making it extremely easy to roll out and customize bespoke blockchains. Substrate also offers cross-language support with WebAssembly. The logic of a parachain can be written in any language that compiles to WebAssembly, such as Rust, Typescript and C++.
